Re: lxde menu : wine entry is gone

I just looked at alacarte. It wants to load a lot more gnome stuff than I want. It's not worth it to me.

Re: lxde menu : wine entry is gone

It's not lxmed. Go into synaptic and search "alacarte". Then click on "get screenshot" and you will see it looks just like the one I'm using...the same one on the Mint main editions. It should install from synaptic without any trouble, but I don't know if it requires any further ...

Re: lxde menu : wine entry is gone

I'm actually working off of Ultimate Edition Lite 3.0 and it came with the menu editor installed. It's the same one on the Mint main editions. For some reason, they don't put it on Mint LXDE. Lubuntu doesn't have it either. (I've got 3 different LXDE distros: Mint 11 LXDE, Lubuntu 11.04 and 11.10, a...

Re: lxde menu : wine entry is gone

OK. I don't have WINE, but I made a WINE folder, then made a couple of "test" items to try it. In your Menu Editor, click on New Menu. Then add the name (WINE) and comment (Windows Emulator) Click OK. Then, highlight that folder and click New Item. Here it is the same EXCEPT you have to kn...

Re: lxde menu : wine entry is gone

OK, it's been a while. I going to try a few things and see if I can remember how to get the icon back into the menu. I'll let you know what happens. Yes, I was commenting on your desktop. Cool! Thanks for the share. Also, where did you get that icon theme? (The red "folder looking" desktop...

Re: lxde menu : wine entry is gone

Hi martin.new. Just to get a little more information, open your file manager and go to /usr/share/applications and see if the menu item you are looking for is still listed there. ----------- Awesome desktop! I wish I could see it all! http://images.zaazu.com/img/X-ray-Vision-X-ray-Vision-eyelass-see...

Re: which distribution with lxde

I currently have Lubuntu 11.10 and Linux Mint 11 LXDE as a dual-boot on a netbook and Lubuntu 11.04 on a desktop. Lubuntu and Mint 11 LXDE are both at the top of the list of good, well built, stable, and fast running LXDE distros. I've tried a lot of others (OpenSuse LXDE, Zorin LXDE, UE 3.0, Sabayo...

Re: I Cant Download LXDE Help!

I don't know about that download problem, but did you try the LXDE versions of Ubuntu and Mint? I'm currently running Lubuntu 11.04, Lubuntu 11.10, and Mint 11 LXDE. They are all equal in performance. Lubuntu 11.10 is the current LXDE version of Ubuntu, and I can say from my own experience it is gre...

How to edit Lubuntu main menu [VIDEO]

I made this video to help out "terminal shy" Lubuntu newbies. There may be other ways, but this is my method of choice.
