Re: Installing LXNM on an XO Laptop?

LXNM doesn't really work currently, that's why it's not in Fedora and not available for the XO with yum. Use NetworkManager-gnome instead. We will release a new version of F11 or F12 with all the latest LXDE components soon (within the next 2-3 weeks I think). Just contact me if you are interested. ...

Re: Which distros work best with LXDE?

I think Debian has the most outdated LXDE packages of all LXDE distros out there. Not sure if there are backports, but you can compile from source without grabbing the SVN versions. I guess Fedora and Arch will have the most recent packages. While Arch has ships SVN versions, Fedora uses the latest ...

File a bug in Ubuntus Launchpad. Other distributions are packaging wicd in a way that it can coexist with NetworkManager.

Re: Which distros work best with LXDE?

Update: LXDE remix is out. http://alt.fedoraproject.org/pub/alt/remixes/LXDE/lxde-fedora-remix-11-i686-live.iso I just want to clarify that this is not my work but a solo attempt from a Red Hat employee who has nothing to do with LXDE. He took an outdated kickstart file from me, modified it a littl...

Re: Which distros work best with LXDE?

I'm throw my hat in the ring for Fedora. For 2 reasons: I'm Fedora's LXDE maintainer :D Because of 1 we have all LXDE packages in Fedora and we have the most recent versions The Fedora 11 LXDE Remix will be available soon with all the latest packages (after Linuxtag Berlin which is in 3 weeks) and I...

Re: How to Change LXDE main menu

What version of lxpanel are you running? With >= 0.4.0 lxpanel requires lxmenu-data which includes /etc/xdg/menus/lxde-applications.menu. If you have an older version, you can only edit the menu as described in the Xfce wiki.

Re: network manager

I've heard, that it make problems on fedora, but on my Archlinux it works perfect. Huh? :? What you showed me at CLT was far from perfect, at least for WPA protected networks. Wicd does not necessarily make problems on Fedora, but whenever NetworkManager is still running in the background. BTW: I r...
