I checked the config files, but did not found it. I have Gentoo with an actual portage tree. Is there anyway to remo...

Re: Fine Tuning the Display Parameters

You could use xbindkeys for the Multimedia Keys.
With xbindkeys you can define commands called on key (combos) strikes.
I think Xbindkeys is easier to configure than the lxde-rc.conf from openbox, but you could do it there, also.

Re: Desktop smaller then monitor

Other option for you would be to enable LCD Strech in the Laptop. Many old Laptops have this option.

Re: Switch Primary Mouse Button

I would do this in your xorg.conf. Edit /etc/X11/xorg.conf and add/switch to:
Section "InputDevice"
Identifier "mouse {or whatever fedora says to it}"
.
.
.
Option "ButtonMapping" "3 2 1 4 5"
EndSection

Re: some pain from MacBook keyboard

Apple linked the keys to OS functions, why/how should GNU/Linux know, what every freaking special key on each keyboard in the world means.
Special keys generally only work out of the box, if the are linked to the hardware direct from the BIOS.

Re: Italian keyboard.

I would allqays be doing keyboard stuff for the X Server in general. So I would edit my /etc/X11/xorg.conf:
Add in /etc/X11/xorg.conf this line:
Section "InputDevice"
.
.
.
Option "XkbLayout" "it"
EndSection

Re: LXDE running on 11-year old Pentium 1 system 166 MHz

I am running it on a 300 MHz PentiumMMX (i586, but chost i486 for my laptop) with 64MB and Gentoo on it and LXDE runs quite well.
I am thinking about installing it on my other PCs.
