Edit ~/.config/lxpanel/LXDE/config and add LogoutCommand=<your_logout_program> and you're done.
No hacking of the source code is needed.

This can be achieved by utilizing environment variables defined by freedesktop.org menu spec. However, it's very difficult and I believe that only developers can understand what's that.
