That is a good question. I never noticed it because I always open Firefox on 1, Thunderbird on 2, and File manager on 3. Under Customize Look and Feel there is an Icon Theme tab, however that merely changes the theme. You want to create your own Icon, so I don't think that will help. Wait one.

I have never heard or read anything about hibernation being harmful to laptops. Since nothing is on, I don't see how it would be. That said, I wouldn't throw it around because that is never good for for the computer.

I guess that I didn't read your original post as well as I thought. I was just surprised that someone else was posting on this forum so I answered before thinking. Sorry.

Zoom is already there. I too have an ASUS EeePC, but mine is a 1000H. I also have Lubuntu 11.10 installed. You can use Ctrl + and that will zoom in. Ctrl - will zoom out. Ctrl 0 will reset. Enjoy.
