Re: How to set system wide background?
Welcome Sandra. Are you using Lubuntu? I ask because what I am going to tell you works in Lubuntu 11.10. Other LXDE may be slightly different. Right click on your desktop. Choose desktop preferences. Choose background color and pick the color that you want for your background. Immediately below back...

Re: Can LXDE pager show icons?
That is a good question. I never noticed it because I always open Firefox on 1, Thunderbird on 2, and File manager on 3. I always assume that that is where they are and they have never not been there. Let me look into this because it would be a nice thing to have. Nothing shows up on Google, Ubuntu ...

Re: Custom icons in pcmanfm
Under Customize Look and Feel there is an Icon Theme tab, however that merely changes the theme. You want to create your own Icon, so I don't think that will help. Wait one.

Re: hibernating computer
I have never heard or read anything about hibernation being harmful to laptops. Since nothing is on, I don't see how it would be. That said, I wouldn't throw it around because that is never good for for the computer.

Re: how to enable zoom in LXDE?
Zoom is already there. I too have an ASUS EeePC, but mine is a 1000H. I also have Lubuntu 11.10 installed. You can use Ctrl + and that will zoom in. Ctrl - will zoom out. Ctrl 0 will reset. Enjoy.
