Thanks, Seppalta!
Hard to imagine I looked in the right place and somehow didn't see it. I guess it was a caffeine deficiency.

openbox, reassign middle-click on desktop action to left-cli
Using plain openbox, how can I change the response of left click on desktop (no response at all by default) to be what middle-click does by degault, i.e., show a menu of all open windows, sort of like a taskbar? I would have thought it'd be in rc.xml with the word "mouse" somewhere in the ...

Re: how to not default to lxde
I might easily be wrong but I suspect if you uninstall the "display manager" (seems like a silly thing to call a graphical login manager, but such is the custom) you'll get what you want. Everybody logs in normally in a windowless "console" or "tty". Then anyone who wan...

Re: Openbox theme in lxde
Open synaptic. Search button. Search term: theme. Install a bunch. Audition them all. That takes maybe 4 seconds per theme. Note the ones that look close to what you want. If you don't find one that is exactly what you want, go back and look at all the close ones. Try useing the customising controls...

I'm ignorant of the significance "Zogis", but would this do? http://www.nvidia.com/download/driverResults.aspx/61453/en-us Here is Nvidia's driver finder: http://www.nvidia.com/Download/index.aspx?lang=en-us If not, you might have better luck at http://ubuntuforums.org/forumdisplay.php?f=3...

Re: [Solved] Openbox menu, edit out Desktops submenu, how to
I'll try deleting all but the copies in ~/.config/openbox/ and /root/.config/openbox/. I just got around to doing that. It works fine. I now have 2 independenty editable openbox menus, one for my normal user and one for root. Not really sure how much point there is in having one for root as I can't...

Re: Openbox menu, edit out Desktops submenu, how to?
Thanks a lot, guys. I think I've got it. I tried to post several times earlier today and the firefox tab would go blank after I hit [submit] and nothing ever happened. This happened to me yesterday some too. Could be my internet connection getting flaky. Anyway, about the line "<manageDesktops>...

Re: Openbox menu, edit out Desktops submenu, how to?
your screenshot's menu says "More..." at the bottom. is it possible to do it so that it does not show that, but some extra items instead? because according to your menu.xml there should be more. That's just because I have the font set a little to big to show the whole thing in one go. Whe...

Thanks for the tip, Drooly. Another reason I need to study these *rc.xml files.

Re: Openbox menu, edit out Desktops submenu, how to?
@ Drooly Thanks for the suggestion. Good thought. For a few minutes I thought I'd found the solution there because there was a line in there <manageDesktops>yes</manageDesktops> <!-- show the manage desktops section in the client-list-(combined-)menu --> that sounded promising so I changed it to &qu...
