why the default hasn't simply been replaced with the better one is beyond me.

Re: xfce4-power-manager creating extra space after suspend
there's opinions on the bug reports wether this is a bug with xfce4-power-manger or lxpanel... it could be debian is using old versions, what is your version? "This bug was fixed in the package xfce4-power-manager - 1.0.10-5ubuntu2" compiling from git just might help, if your version is le...

Re: Problem getting applications to autostart at start up
there's a gui "desktop session" or sth like that, in the menu under settings or system, which should reflect what is in your autostart folders.
see if the .desktop files show up there, and if they're checked.

Re: xfce4-power-manager creating extra space after suspend
totally weird problem.
you could try posting on crunchbang forums, since they're quite tolerant about what distro or desktop environment you use.
you can always try to start the power manager manually from a terminal and see if you get some meaningful output.

Re: Panel border?
other than this there's no other way doing it from lxpanels settings. there's one or two possibly related settings in lxappearance, last tab, gui settings. possibly also in the current gtk2 theme's gtkrc. iirc, one could disable icon scaling completely. it could also be possible with gtk2 settings i...

Re: Change icons position on the desktop
my guess is op wants to use a script or program to put icons on the desktop and change them around, not the mouse.
