Re: Please join xdg mailing list if you can.
IgnorantGuru's suggestion that lightweight DTs should fork off FreeDesktop.org standards sounded like a wise alternative. However, when I checked to make sure that I understood what a fork was, I saw this comment posted by the famous Juergen Haas of About:Linux (credits below): Definition: fork: In...

automounter utilities without HAL
I've been looking into automounter utilities that don't require HAL and might work outside of X in console mode as well as in X from within Openbox. I use am-utils (Berkeley automounter) on my laptop with FreeBSD and it seems to be helpful. I'm currently trying to set up Debian on my desktop and I n...

I use auth...

Re: Transform "Alt gr" key to standart "Alt"
I was trying to get my numeric keypad arrow keys to work like standard arrow keys. Only found one solution for that so far. Might work for making Alt gr act like Alt key too. It's not directly LXDE related though. There's a program called xev that can tell you what keycodes are in use when you press...

Re: Lightweight applications list - please extend it
I love to read lists of favorite lightweight applications. My own list of programs I commonly use and/or light-weight alternatives is here: http://www.distasis.com/cpp/osrclist.htm Some other applications that might work really well with LXDE are: obtheme - edit OpenBox themes and xbm files, written...

Re: New apps for LXDE
Has anyone mentioned SearchMonkey or Asunder for possible inclusion with LXDE? I believe both are GTK based. Would be nice to see some other applications added, I really like some of the ones that are already part of this project like the lxtask program.
