Thinkpad T22 will not shut down
(This is made from two posts to the mint forum.) I've recently bought quite an old Thinkpad, a T22 from 2001 - 900mhz, 20gb, 256mb. It came with XP on though it was designed for Windows 98 and 2000 according to a sticker on it, and as it was XP was a bit slow. New ram arriving this week. I've tried ...

Re: LXINPUT Keyboard and Mouse issues
You could try the LXDE version of Linux Mint, probably the most polished LXDE distro out there and familiar enough to a Lubuntu user. Some of the graphical interfaces for things like the mouse don't seem to communicate well with configuration files and I imagine there's one in a filesystem folder th...

Re: synclient and left click button [Solved]
After a couple of hours searching the filesystem and boards I learnt this should be added to the .gtkrc-2.0 file in the /home directory:
gtk-double-click-time=450
At least, 450 suits me anyway.

open browser fullscreen with one click?
I use Midori for internet, with Linux Mint 11 LXDE, and ideally I'd like my panel icon to open the browser fullscreen, in other words as if I'd also pressed F11. Can this be done?
Thanks.
Thanks.

synclient and left click button [Solved]
What synclient command/setting do I need to change and add to my autostart file to make double-clicks slower. In other words I don't want to have to be so quick with the second click to open folder etc. Currently to stop my netbook driving me insane because of its poor single button I've set it to o...

Re: 'flat' panel buttons - how is this done?
The one LXDE distro I have at the moment doesn't seem to have something for taking screenshots but I will show you my Gnome panel, with and without flat panel buttons , and will try explaining better. I have learnt how to make 'flat' panel buttons using Gnome 2 in the last couple of days. Screenshot...

'flat' panel buttons - how is this done?
Though currently only trying the odd LXDE distro on a usb stick, I'd be interested to know about this. On the LXDE panel you can right click and choose for the panel buttons to be 'flat' as they're described - the box surrounding the names of the programs running disappears, which looks better than ...

Re: How do add an autostarted routine to lxde?
I'm pleased to have solved this myself after a few days' faffing. The line xcompmgr -CcfF -I-.15 -O-.03 -D2 -t7 -l-21 -r10 -o.32 or a variation of it to change the shadows and fade times goes at the end of the file you find when you navigate here: /etc/xdg/lxsession/LXDE/autostart This is where it i...

How do add an autostarted routine to lxde? - solved
I have LXDE added as a second desktop in Fedora 15. I added xcompmgr (basic shadows and fades) and find that it is at least as good as Gnome 2 then. I have typed the following into the terminal to see what xcompmgr is like, but I would of course like this ot autostart each boot: xcompmgr -CcfF -I-.1...

Turn off touchpad tapping?
I've added lxde to Ubuntu 11.04. Though I have my touchpad tapping function turned off, when I boot lxde it's back on. I imagine that this can be switched off? Even if it's a file alteration somewhere. What's the equivalent of gksu nautilus in lxde also? In other words, how to I open the file system...
