If it is saying, dbus not running, you should start dbus. :) I dont know how it is done on ubuntu, but you could probably copy/link some init script to the /etc/init.d/ folder. For time changing you can use the date command in terminal, man date will explain it. Yeah, you can just copy config files....

Where should a file go, if not to hell, erasing it? Moving files to trashbin, is one thing I consider strange. If I want to have free space, I have to delete it right, if not, why not leave it there.

Another option would be using the BIOS. They provide most times a numlock option. So you ahve numlock already before X.

Is something happening, if you want to hibernate/suspend from console? If not, there might be some power configuration error.

In LXDE, you need to start both the panel and the window manager when you log in. The way we do this is to have the display manager start the session manager, and then the session manager starts the window manager and the panel. There is a difference between the differnt voulume bars. Seems that you volume control is controlling the PCM volume, but your keyboard buttons are changing Master volume. Master was muted so doing anything with it, showed no change. Are your multimedia buttons configured anyway or are they directly...

What icon set are you using? Maybe that icon set is providing a broken firefox icon?
