skimmy wrote:I've tried every setting

skimmy@acer:~$ cd ~/.gtkrc-2.0
bash: cd: /home/skimmy/.gtkrc-2.0: Not a directory

also gtk3 settings show this:

Code: Select all

gtk-theme-name=Crux
Crux is an extremely old theme, and it's not dark. did you choose it?

Re: Openbox window colors, dark theme Topic is solved

Quite simply, windows with dark backgrounds & light text this is definitely possible. maybe you have some stray setting that sets a light background. see if you can UNcheck "custom color scheme" in lxappearance. if that doesn't help, take a look at ~/.gtkrc-2.0 and ~/.gtkrc-2.0-mine a...

Re: How to quickly switch between speaker and headphone sound?

in a terminal:
try alsamixer.
can you find and produce the desired action?
if so, you can write a shell script that toggles that with amixer (man amixer).

PS:
this should actually happen automatically when you plug the headphones in?

Re: No borders around buttons in dark themes

But can you reproduce the behavior with certain themes? meaning, some themes definitely have this problem, others definitely don't? and could you please make sure it applies to gtk 3 only, and not gtk2? (*) a lot to ask for a newbie, I know, but you will get to know your system better... (*) there's...

did you install Elementary-dark yourself?
looks like a minor gtk3 theme incompatibility problem.
