Re: Change icons position on the desktop
have you checked if these files and folders are present on your system? maybe it's not gnome specific.

Re: How does the close down button work?
i misinterpreted your post. no i think this is a different topic altogether. i think it has to do with policy kit things, how commands that would normally require root authentication can be run without giving your password every time. unfortunately i'm not good at this, but i guess searching "u...

Re: How does the close down button work?
that would usually require you to enter a password, but sudo is not a gui command. you could change it to "gksudo shutdown -h now" and assign this to a launcher on the panel, but then you'd still have to enter your password. why do you want that? ...to answer your question directly, i thin...

Re: How to make pcmanfm foremost window on launch?
this might be window manager related.
you're not using lxde as your desktop environment and might consider posting the same question on ubuntu forums or e.g. linuxquestions.org.
does the problem occur no matter how you launch pcmanfm?

Re: Magnet Link with Deluge
i just had a quick look at chromium (not chrome) which is the default browser for lubuntu, and could not find anything about default applications. also the right-click menu is not very helpful. there's a folder $HOME/.config/chromium with all kinds of interesting stuff - i suggest you sift it throug...

Re: Windows and desktop icons dissappear
it sounds like pcmanfm is crashing. pcmanfm is lxde's file manager, but also manages the icons that appear on your desktop, and the background picture. does something you or your computer do trigger the crashes? what kind of system are you running? did you make changes to it? or major upgrades/updat...

Re: Magnet Link with Deluge
from which browser are you trying to open the magnetic link?
is iceweasel or firefox trying to open the link with chrome?
or is chrome trying to open the link with chrome? that would be extremely weird.

Re: need to put "Eject cd-rom" icon on desktop
i just searched "eject cdrom gvfs" and this looks like it could help: http://igurublog.wordpress.com/downloads/script-devmon/ i don't know if it conflicts with something already installed, but it will tell you when you try to install. apart from that, do you know how to create a .desktop f...

Re: Missing LXPanel entries under menu
on my setup lxpanelctl --restart does not work. it does simply nothing because i don't have lxsession. actually this is not quite right. first, it should be "lxpanelctl restart" without the minusses. it kills lxpanel, but does not restart. i suspect the reason is because i'm not using the...
