Re: Disable Screensaver / Screenlock

Have a look at "power Manager" as Rex suggested. However, your image shows it in "settings".
Otherwise, install "xscreensver" or "gnome-screensaver" to get controls.

Re: Problems with clipboard and special chacters

You do not say anything about having a clipboard installed? Common lightweight clipboards are clipit and parcellite:

Code: Select all

sudo apt-get install clipit

Re: LXDE and LXQt

Do you by chance know of other minimal distros ... Not with the sophistication of Sparky. The beauty of Sparky is an active developer who actively and continuously controls updates; thus, it has the advantage of cutting edge and stability. Crunchbang++ is currently good, but appears to have only 1 ...

Re: LXDE and LXQt

HI Seppalta -I am very interested in a minimal LXDE and OpenBox OS.
I generally start with a minimal (no-codecs) Sparky Linux rolling system: https://sparkylinux.org/download/rolling/#minimal. For configuration, see http://lxlinux.com, and the links there-in.

Re: Live disk

Install an up-to-date openbox distro, remove and add apps to your desire and remaster. Sparky Linux Minimal https://sparkylinux.org/download/stable is a good example, and has its own remastering program https://sparkylinux.org/sparky-backup-sys-20180607/ . Such systems are way lighter than any Lubun...

Re: automount broken on Fed28

Code: Select all

Is this something that got wiped out by the update process or a change in the way this is done which did not migrate correctly?
Apparently, if you are sure it was there before.

Re: Possible to Disable Desktop Auto Sorting of Newly-Created (Folder/File) Icons?

idesk does not support drag'n'drop if i remember correctly.
Icons in idesk can be dragged by holding down the mouse right clicker. Furthermore, each icon's desktop position can be fixed by stipulating a position coordinate in that icon's config file. See http://lxlinux.com/#2.

Re: Trouble with VLC

Since you installed it as root, you probably have to be root to open it.
