Re: Duplicate/Multiplication tray icons

It appears from the image to be just 1 application, which is an icon "foreign" to me. Check your autostart files for duplicate entries. Autostart files may be or may not be at roughly (exact name depends upon distro): /etc/xdg/lxsession/LXDE/autostart /etc/xdg/openbox/autostart ~/.config/o...

Re: Dual pane at startup.

It is easy enough to set-up. Be sure xdotool is installed: sudo apt-get install xdotool . Then use your text editor to create the following bash script: #!/bin/bash pcmanfm & sleep 1 xdotool key "F3" & xdotool click "1" & exit0 Save this file as pcmanfm-dp.sh . Put it...

Re: Moving desktop icons, copying to Desktop...

Each desktop icon occupies a certain amount of space. These spaces are not allowed to intersect. So when 2 icons are brought close together, the space of one of them will push the other's space away. So, if you want icons close together, you need to reduce their size. Pcmanfm has a tool for icon siz...

Re: Best volume indicator OSD for linux

OK, have it your way. I guess I'm very "80ish", to be precise 81, and I'm comfortable watching movies from across the room on my 40" TV screen, controlled with a 2000 logitech anywhere-mouse on my lap to adjust VLC. I suppose that I could use the tv control, as illustrated by your ext...

Re: lxmusic and panel preferences

What distro are you using? Have you done a sudo apt-get update , and sudo apt-get upgrade or sudo apt-get dist-upgrade ? If this doesn't correct the situation, then consider my following comments. LXDE, by design, is loosely structured, that is, packages for the most part are independent, so just ab...

Re: setting window frame width

Sorry, I got sloppy. User rc.xml file is in ~/.config/openbox . There are literally hundreds of themes available for openbox. See http://lxlinux.com/themes.html . Themes are quite easy to install. You could search for one that comes with a fat border width and suits you as well, otherwise. I don't k...

Re: Best volume indicator OSD for linux

I generally use vlc to watch movies, online or otherwise. Just moving the mouse brings up the vlc panel control, which has a volume control on it - the green triangle in the lower right of included photo. Adjust the volume, drop the mouse and a few seconds later, the panel disappears. Most players k...

Re: lxpanel moved to external monitor

Everything looks correct to the information in the image.(?) I see a vertical extended desktop screen layout and a panel preference calling for a "top" panel, which is what the picture shows. If you want the panel on the "bottom" of the extended desktop, you need to tick the bott...

Re: Best volume indicator OSD for linux

There are several desktop volume control applets available fot linux in general. Among the wmdocker ( http://lxlinux.com/dock.html ) applets are at least wmix and wmixer . There is also veromix : http://lxlinux.com/battvol.png which you have to click to open. There is one that you might like, but I ...

Re: lxpanel crashes when click right mouse button

This was a bug long time ago - was fixed, but apparently still pops up depending on the source of your initial installation. You might try re-installing lxpanel from a different source. One person in the past said he fixed the problem by changing monitor setting from 60 MHz to 75 MHz. Personally, I ...
