Re: swap control and caps lock

Thanks, I'll try it! The method I used seems to work fine for the "real" desktop, when it was connected to a monitor - but not for virtual desktops. I don't get why keyboard mappings depend on the display! That's probably by design. I've never actually used a virtual desktop/machine before.

Re: Colors from some apps(Skype, by example) on Ubuntu with LXDE

I do not use Ubuntu, but take a look at the available Themes. In LXDE, those can be viewed and changed using the Openbox Configuration Manager.

<soapbox mode on> I've been experiencing multiple crashes of an e-mail app, with related kernel crashes that are referencing the e-mail app. They are queuing up in ABRT on my system because Fedora's retrace (bug processing) server has been offline for a while due to a data center move. The e-mail ap...

Re: How to change LXLauncher background bar appearance?

There is a manual entry for lxlauncher, referencing a ~/.config/lxlauncher/settings.conf file containing display settings, but on my Fedora system, ~/.config/lxlauncher/ does not exist.

Code: Select all

man lxlauncher

Re: swap control and caps lock

There is a command:

Code: Select all

xmodmap -pk
Reference: https://ictsolved.github.io/remap-key-in-linux/

Also see:

Code: Select all

man xmodmap
Hope this helps.

Re: Is LXDE going to continue to have support and development?

If LXDE development is continuing, the LXDE page at Wikipedia needs to be corrected. It currently shows 0.99.2 as the FINAL release of LXDE. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/LXDE That is problematic. The citation that is supposed to confirm results in 2 broken links for me. I am now joining the LXDE m...

Re: Is LXDE going to continue to have support and development?

Anyone can even edit a Wikipedia page, that does not require an account. It looks like they now have something that is along the lines of a WYSIWYG editor, so you will see what something looks like as it's being edited. That looks much easier to do. If it's that easy, would you mind doing it please...

Re: Is LXDE going to continue to have support and development?

One most probably mirrors the other. Fairly common practice nowadays. It would appear that the LXDE wikipedia page is indeed wrong there - the last release was 0.99.2, but it's in no way "final", as, I believe, recent work on some core components proves. Somebody on the mailing list sugge...

Re: Is LXDE going to continue to have support and development?

Another item I noticed in the article is the Repository information. Currently displays GitHub, but they also use Sourceforge.

Is one more official over the other?
