I had a plan to make two systems based on Lubuntu/Ubuntu but there is a theory which says: Why not to develop and improve the current one instead of creating new one?

It is there for a purpose as you already mentioned and as far as my experience with the settings can tell, I don't think there is a way to hide them, sorry
