Hi
I am using LXDE on my desktop and my laptop and really very much fond of it <3
I update decently regularly and havent come across any bug in my use
JUST CURIOUS !!
About adding a search element in the menu of the LXDE panel
The panel is the most sleek-est menu and I'd love to see a search option/element in there(especially when I have a looot of applications installed and want to access it faster)
I know it can be done by installing another application to search in other methods but I would love to see it in the menu bar directly
SO~
IS IT ALREADY DONE ?
IS IT POSSIBLE ?(without sacrificing more ram usage)
IS ANYONE INTERESTED/WORKING ON IT ?
Thank you

Re: NEW FEATURES IN LXDE
Welcome to the LXDE forum. I am not sure of your question. What would you be searching for from the LXPanel? There already is a Find Files in PCManFM under the Tools drop down menu.

Re: NEW FEATURES IN LXDE
Hi
Yes infact I am using lubuntu
I meant a search area like what is in KDE application launcher or search area in Whisker menu in xfce , where one can quick search applications (and/or files also)
that'd be really cool a huge amount of applications are installed and a quick way to search them~
Can this be done ?

there's a very limited amount of plugins for lxpanel, and i'm pretty sure a search plugin is not in it.

lightweight is lightweight.

well, it is still possible to get a similar search function using a seperate application.
i think kupfer can do it, or synapse (both not exactly lightweight).
or plain old "find" or "whereis" - from a terminal. type "man find" or "man whereis" to get aquainted. very lightweight!

There is a feature requests tracker for LXDE, put your request there, please, so it possibly will be added in some next version. Thank you.
