Hi there.
I installed pcmanfm to replace thunar. But in the applications tab/bookmark (menu://applications/) there are no applications.
I do have gnome-menus, gnome-menus2 and lxmenu-data.
In /etc/xdg/menus I can see various files like lxde-applications.menu, xfce-applications.menu, applications.menu and kde-applications.menu.
I already tried to add 'export XDG_MENU_PREFIX=lxde-', 'export XDG_MENU_PREFIX=xfce-' and 'export XDG_MENU_PREFIX=xfce-applications.menu' to .xinitrc.
Also linked lxde-applications.menu to applications.menu. Nothing helped.
There also seems to be nothing on the internet.
Can someone explain how to get the applications tab working or at least how to remove the bookmark?
Thanks in advance

Re: openbox pcmanfm arch -> no applications
Appendix:
I just noticed that when I start pcmanfm as root it finds applications. So it seems to be a permission problem. I don't understand why though as all files in /etc/xdg/menus are at least readable for everyone.

Re: openbox pcmanfm arch -> no applications
Got the solution.
The problem was that in /home/myuser/.cache the folder 'menus' was owned by root. I changed that to my username and everything worked fine.
Cheers
