Make PCmanFM like Longhorn Explorer?
Re: Make PCmanFM like Longhorn Explorer?
Now don't take my post wrong. Just pointing out some things you may not realize.
System requirements are at odds with your video for LXDE and PCManFM which is considered lightweight windows manager, not a desktop enviorment with Areo or whatever, for legacy gear where speed is more desirable than eye candy or many processes running. A LongHorn type of File Manager seems more suitable KDE and Unity type of Desktop enviorment instead of lightweight window managers which is what LXDE is one of the members of..
I am not a developer though. Just a Linux Biker. If wanting something fancy. Check out.

Even Eagle Mode also has some hefty system minimum requirements to run.

My P3 and Single core Atom and Celeron Netbooks and video chips would choke on your LongHorn Explorer functions and type of Desktop and eyecandy in PCManFM. Good thing about Linux though. I have a choice. When things get bloated. I move on.
Long live ratpoison, flwm, pekwm, evilvte, tmux, catwm, snapwm, dminiwm, monsterwm, I3, herbstluftwm, wmfs2, E17,E16,openbox,JWM,conky, mc,moc, fluxbox, icewm, roxfm, vim, nano, links,elinks,lynx,mp3blaster,Tin,ceni, finch, xine,SoX and mplayer. Plus a lot of others I have not mentioned.
Like I said. I am not a developer, but I am a Team Member on 2 Linux Distros that work on Legacy Hardware. So don't worry.
Maybe the developers will take your thread and incorporate some of LongHorns functions to heart.

http://eaglemode.sourceforge.net/download.htmlAbout Eagle Mode
Eagle Mode is an advanced solution for a futuristic style of man-machine communication in which the user can visit almost everything simply by zooming in. It has a professional file manager, file viewers and players for most of the common file types, a chess game, a 3D mines game, a netwalk game, a multi-function clock and some fractal fun, all integrated in a virtual cosmos. Besides, that cosmos also provides a Linux kernel configurator in form of a kernel patch.
By featuring a separate popup-zoomed control view, help texts in the things they are describing, editable bookmarks, multiple input methods, fast anti-aliased graphics, a virtually unlimited depth of panel tree, and by its portable C++ API, Eagle Mode aims to be a cutting edge of zoomable user interfaces.
Eagle Mode is distributed under the GNU General Public License version 3.
Even Eagle Mode also has some hefty system minimum requirements to run.
