Linux is (was) about flexibility and choice given to the user.
Filename extensions for files I create are my choice.

You have taken away choosing to show filename extensions for 'registered' file types.

Not cool.

More than one person has requested that choice to show all file extensions/suffixes, yet it is denied for reasons of the programmers' logic, not the requestors logic.

Choice taken away.

Not cool.

Welcome to the LXDE forums. I am not sure why you are posting here since LXDE developers rarely if ever visit this forum. If you have a future request you should go to https://sourceforge.net/p/pcmanfm/feature-requests/ as directed in the Announcements at the top of each page. We have no control over the development of LXDE here in the forums.

i don't know who this "You" is.
i can certainly always see my files' extensions.

and linux is still about choice, only nowadays you also have the additional choice to install a windows-like system with minimal user responsibility...
