Show name of symlinked directory in address bar, not the symlink itself?

Post by intox8907 »

Hello there!

First, thanks for working on this great project. I often recommend LXDE and Lubuntu to people. However, a friend of mine wants to use PCManFM as similarly to Windows Explorer as possible. I have explained to him that this will not always be possible, but he wants it that when he clicks on a symlink, that the address bar shows the actual folder name he is in, not the name of the symlink. Is there an option or way to configure this?

Best wishes,

To be more specific, let's say that on my desktop, I have a folder which is a symlink ("shortcut" in Windows language). It is called "/home/me/Desktop/test" and links to "/home/me/some_stuff". I open the symlink in PCManFM. In the address bar, the address is listed as "/home/me/Desktop/test", which is the name of the symlink, but I really am in "/home/me/some_stuff". My friend would prefer that the address bar shows "/home/me/some_stuff", the actual name of the actual directory that he is currently in.
