Selecting Text in LXTerminal with keyboard only (no mouse)

Post by robertmx »

Hi, I really enjoy working with the LXTerminal.

However, frequently I have to copy sections of text from/to the terminal. Selecting the regions with the mouse breaks my workflow because most of my tools are console-based (vim, ranger, etc.).

Is there any solution to select parts of the screen with the keyboard? Is there already such a function implemented, or is this possible with an additional program?

Thanks a lot for all your work!

Best regards,
Robert

Within those tools you are using it is surely possible.
But for the terminal itself - tricky.
AFAIK, this is only possible if the terminal emulator supports it. Like urxvt.
Take a good look at these search results.
