I want to use GnoMenu because its nicer then LXDE menu. How would I get GnoMenu to work in LXDE or even get it to work with LXpenel
I don't want to use Gnome environment because its not light enough and a too clunky for me.

I don't think GnoMenu has been worked on since about 2010. Back then you did the following to install it:
Code: Select all
sudo add-apt-repository ppa:gnomenu-team/ppa
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install gnomenu
Xfce4-appfinder is similar to GnoMenu. It works fine with the LXDE desktop:
Code: Select all
sudo apt-get install --no-install-recommends xfce4-appfinder
For some general discussion involving menus, see

have you tried installing it?
i think you'd get an icon in your system tray when it runs?
but yeah, last update in 2011 - it might work, it might not.
i suggest mint menu, i think there was a simple trick to install it on *buntu...
here's an
old thread from ubuntu forums, but it should still hold if you adjust the release names accordingly (e.g. gloria -> maya).
