lxlauncher and console applications

Hi all,
I am trying to customize the lxlauncher panel. I achieved to define the launcher.menu file properly as well as related desktop entries. The next step for me is the ability to define entries that will launch console applications. I tried several things including copying some desktop files available with some applications like ipython: no problem when these entries are launched from the gnome application menu, but it does not work when launched from the lxlauncher panel
As I am working on a compiled version, I tried the official package included in Ubuntu 9.04. I got exactly the same result: all the entries launching console applications (incl. those installed by Ubuntu like aumix) are not working from lxlauncher.
Any idea?
