Get rid of announcements

Post by Glenn Johnson »

Is there a way to get rid of the announcements at the top of every forum page? Can I mark them as "read" so they'll go away? I've either read them or are aware that they exist. Either way, I'm no longer interested in them. They take up most of the screen leaving new posts and / or topics low enough so that I need to scroll down to view them.

I did it with Adblock Plus "hide element". You could also do it with Stylish.

I don't want to block them completely, they have a purpose, but if I've already seen them I'd prefer that they were hidden.

You can toggle both Stylish and Adblock Plus on/off if you want to check them every so often. Best of both worlds.

OK, well, I blocked them with Adblock. Not the way I would have preferred but ....

It is there for a purpose as you already mentioned and as far as my experience with the settings can tell, I don't think there is a way to hide them, sorry :)

Edit: Ok, I will check it for you and see if I can do something ;)

I take that back, indeed, there is an option to hide it whenever you are on your topic ;)
