Desktop did not resizing according to monitor setting

Hi.. i'm just trying LXDE and it work outstandingly on my old pc. But 1024x768 is a bit too big for me so I change to a higher resolution (1280x1024) using monitor setting. But the problem is resizing the monitor setting wont change the desktop setting as the desktop still in 1024x768 mode and there are some hidden area on it which to access files it I had to use PCManFM. How can I solve this problem?

Could you explain your problem more detailed? Or post a screenshot?

You have an CRT?
A CRT sometimes save differnt zoom levels for different dimensions.
Try to go your CRT/Monitor menu (a button on the monitor hardware) and reduce the zoom level. If now "more" LXDE, you have to change monitor hardware settings.
