Freeze menu Lubuntu 14.04

Hi friends,
I've just installed on an Extensa celeron laptop Lubuntu 14.04;
All works fine, except for a occasionally few seconds boring menu freeze.
This laptop is not mine, but I would like to help its owner who are beginners
