DPMS with LXDE

Post by PeterP »

Hi-

I'm using LXDE with SparkyLinux on an old Dell laptop. I'd like to have the LCD display backlight power down after a certain time. I know that I can do this with a command like

Code: Select all

xset dpms 100 200 300
in any of various files. Experimentation showed that I had to kill the XScreen-saver process in order for this to work.

So, I was wondering, is there a proper way to power down the LCD backlight, using some sort of menu choice within LXDE?

Thanks

Duh. Suitable options are on the "Advanced" tab of the screensaver.
