I was not getting KNetworkManager to activate upon startup, without going to System Tools >> KNetworkManager.
To try and do this I went to, and activated:
System Tools >> KNetworkManager >> Properties >> Application shortcut >> Advanced >> Use startup notification
On rebooting, KNetworkManager did not startup, and I had to go back to System Tools to activate my wireless. Subsequently, I also noticed two icons for KNetworkManager now existing under System Tools. I deactivated 'Use startup notification' but this made no difference.
1. How do I get rid of one KNetworkManager application shortcut icon from System Tools (as two are now showing)?
2. How do I ensure that NetworkManager automatically starts on startup to try and detect eth0 or eth1?
I run openSUSE 11.1 on a ThinkPad R51
