Can't open any network tools/applets

Post by Danie »

Hi,

I've just installed Lubuntu 17.04 on a fresh Vistulabox VM & can't run any of the network configuration tools.
  • Menu -> System Tools -> Network: Just gives me a 'busy' mouse pointer for about 30 seconds & then nothing
Menu -> Preferences -> Network Connections: Just gives me a 'busy' mouse pointer for about 30 seconds & then nothing
    Try to launch nm-applet: nothing
NetworkManager is running in the background and the network interface is working. Any ideas anyone?

wow, nobody answered in 4 days...
i hope you also tried on some other forum.
anyhow, i'm not using all lxde components myself right now, but i'd say you have to find out what the actual command executed for these menu entries is(*), and execute them from a terminal, to see what they output.

(*) there's a good chance you'll find them in /usr/share/applications
