Firewire Networking - Anyone know how?

Hello: I have a Mac Desktop that is my Daily Driver (uh, computer if you will), that is connected via WiFi, but my PC that is running LXLE, sadly doesn't have a Linux compatible WiFi adapter (have tried a few work-arounds, but no joy), and it occurred to me that the PC does in fact have a Firewire 400 port. In Macs, Firewire networking/internet-sharing is a cinch, but am not sure how to get LXLE to see it. I have all the Firewire drivers installed, but can't get it to do anything. Is there a tutorial anywhere you all know of on this? Also, can it be done DHCP, or do I have to do it as Fixed-IP?

Lastly, can AFP file-sharing be added to LXDE/LXLE 16.04? I noticed a lot of Distros dropped it a while back - just curious.

BTW - LOVE WHAT YOU ALL ARE DOING! This is hands-down the best OS for Aging PC hardware :D
