LXDE & Ubuntu 10.10 - Networking not going so well

Post by encima »

Hi All,

I used bootstrap and rootstock to create a build of LXDE on an SD card, it boots up fine and seems to be OK. I am fairly new to Linux but it seems that ifconfig -a does not show wlan0 as being available, and eth0 has a different MAC address.
I have started network manager, and it now runs on startup but does not see wireless at all.
Is there something I have missed?
I saw that I may need to install wireless tools but that should not affect the mac address of the ethernet should it, as it is hardware?

Any help is greatly appreciated!
