Starting Synergy before logging in

I use one keyboard and mouse on 2 machines with Synergy. My second machine is now Fedora 17 LXDE. I need to get synergy to start before logging in so I can use the Keyboard and mouse from my windows machine to log in to my linux machine. I have it so that it starts after logging in by putting a file in /etc/xdg/autostart directory. However this is not good enough I still need 2 keyboards and 2 mice to do this. rc.local does not exist on Fedora 17 by default anymore, so I tried putting the synergyc startup line in /etc/rc.d/rc.local and in /etc/init.d/rc.local but neither one worked. This really shouldn't be that difficult but I am stumped. Thanks in advance for the help!

your desktop manager should have such feature, in my case LXDM has file /etc/lxdm/PreLogin which is executed before login.
