I'd like to use Vim with XTerm clipboard support enabled.
Browsing the results of apt-cache search vim, I found Vim flavors for Gnome and Athena that are compiled with xterm_clipboard.
No love for LXDE though.
As getting Vim in one of these versions would require installing quite some dependencies, I currently see no other choice but to compile Vim myself.
That doesn't seem like a bad option, but I would lose the automatic updates with apt-get upgrade.
So my question is twofold:
- Is compiling a custom flavor of Vim really my best option, or am I overlooking something?
- Wouldn't it be nice to have a vim-lxde flavor in the Debian repositories?
