Menu button Hover doesn't resize to panel height (also: transparency?)

Post by Mark_MacRae »

Hi,
I am brand new to Lubuntu and the first thing I did upon installing it was to increase the height of the bottom panel (to 46 pixels). Then I realized that the Lubuntu logo wasn't my favorite for a menu button, so I replaced it (with a starwars imperial logo).

Anyway. I noted that the blue tint to the hover transparency was ugly and not covering the whole image. I managed to find the config file for the xpanel and changed the tintcolor for menu and have been playing with the "alpha" number to try to get it more transparent... still it is not transparent enough for my taste... but anyway, the height of the hover tint is not covering the whole menu button, which is really ugly. See screenshot:

I cannot find a setting for the height of this hover tint. I would have expected it to match the height of the panel, but apparently not.

show us exactly which files you edited and how.
post the code, and full paths, and whether you had to do it with sudo.
