Hi,
Love LXDE. Looking forward to LXQT. Keep up great work!
Opened a file one time with LXTerminal. Now LXTerminal is always in the right click context menu for files of a certain type. How does one remove a program from the right click context menu?
Thanks.

Thanks. Might have phrased question wrong though. How does one remove LXTerminal (or any other program) from the right click menu shown in screenshot?
Re: Remove program from right click context menu
The computer procedure for picking what comes up when you right click a file is rather chaotic, depends upon the mimeinfo associations, which are determined in several files in several ways. To make a long story short it is easy to add apps but hard to remove them. See https://lkubaski.wordpress.com/2012/10/ ... nd-pcmanfm. You might get lucky by just removing the associations to lxterminal in /usr/share/applications/mimeinfo.cache.
Re: Remove program from right click context menu
i don't recommend to go sudo-ing around for that.
you could first try to remove something called lxterminal-usercreated-***.desktop in ~/.local/share/applications.
or the mimeinfo.cache in the same folder.

Is there a penalty for heresy here?
You might try spacefm as a gui file browser instead of pcmanfm. Takes a little getting used to, because the dev IgnorantGuru chose to ignore all sorts of conventions that are common to graphical file browsers and start from scratch. But it makes these sorts of things EASY. Best gui file browser ever. Hands down. You don't have to uninstall what you are used to. Just install spacefm and try it. Menu editing begins from the View menu. You really need to read the docs to get the full benefit of it, because a lot of things don't work the way you expect but once you catch on you realize they work better.

Just decided to let it go. Laptop is getting old and new LXDE/LXQT install will go on new laptop eventually. Still thanks for all the suggestions. As with all things Linux could probably fix if put in time.
