To change the password of "Roger", type the following in a terminal:

Code: Select all

sudo passwd roger
.
Press the "enter" key and follow the prompts.

i don't really understand this, esp. the last bit.
where and how did you try to set "Don't ask for User Password"?
and what error are you getting?
surely not this: :o literally?

on a wild guess, i'd say this setting only applies to the login manager, and you still need to provide your password to change that.
also you will never be able to use linux without a password. it's a feature, not a bug.
