Default install of LXDE 16.04
After several minutes the screen goes blank and requires password to login.
It becomes a real problem when I'm trying to play video b/c I need to move the mouse every few minutes to keep the video active.
I would like to disable this entirely. How do I do that?
Disable Screensaver / Screenlock
Re: Disable Screensaver / Screenlock
In menu under settings, click screensaver to get screensaver control.

I believe the application that you are looking for is your Power Manager under Preferences in the main menu. You can find the applicable adjustments under System and Display on the horizontal menu.

Have a look at "power Manager" as Rex suggested. However, your image shows it in "settings".
Otherwise, install "xscreensver" or "gnome-screensaver" to get controls.

you probably meant Lubuntu 16.04.chadm wrote:Default install of LXDE 16.04
this is normal and desired behavior, but can be changed from power management settings (battery icon in tray?).After several minutes the screen goes blank and requires password to login.
this probably happens only when you watch your video from a browser! It becomes a real problem when I'm trying to play video b/c I need to move the mouse every few minutes to keep the video active.
for that, you need to install a small applet "caffeine" and set it up to your needs.
alternatively, find ways to watch online videos through your media player.
