Muting app notifications
Muting app notifications
Is there a way to mute app notifications?
Re: Muting app notifications
That depends on the app.
Often they have a setting to en/disable that.
If that isn't possible, you might be able to disable notfications globally.
But, since LXDE doesn't come with its own notification daemon, we really need more information about your distro to help you.
Re: Muting app notifications
Sure:
NAME="Ubuntu"
VERSION="20.04.1 LTS (Focal Fossa)"
And I was told I can not silence the notifications in the app.

Re: Muting app notifications
And you have installed LXDE on top of that? Or LXQt?
And again: which app(s) are sending undesired notifications?
Who told you you cannot silence it? Link please.

Re: Muting app notifications
I assume you mean this - how did you install it? It doesn't appear to be in the Ubuntu repos.
Have you checked its preferences/documentation?
Is it the only thing sending notifications?
If not, do these notifications look different from system notifications?
Have you made an effort and looked through your system: what is sending system notifications, and can it be configured?
I don't know which notification daemon your non-standard setup uses, but maybe this can help.
Re: Muting app notifications
Take control by opening the Settings app and going to the Notifications & Actions section: To turn off all notifications from apps, move the Get notifications from apps and other senders slider to the Off position.
