Lxrandr "Unable to get monitor information!" [solved]

Post by sHyLoCk »

Whenever I launch "Monitor Settings" I get this error. Here is my xorg.conf if it's of any use.

Code: Select all

EndSection

EndSection

Section "InputDevice"

EndSection

Do you have hal and dbus running?
And what happens, if you have hal and move the xorg.conf to xorg.conf.bak and then starting X?

Yes hald and dbus are running.

Code: Select all

$ eselect rc show
Status of init scripts in runlevel "default"
  dbus [started]
  hald [started]
I tried to launch X without xorg.conf but I get this error log:

Code: Select all

Also another question which is not related o this topic, but if some one will answer it I'll be greatful, is there a lightweight power manager that I can use with LXDE? I have aliased xset dpms force off but an app would be handy.

I would not consider this as error log.
X is performing quite well. HID are recognized well, Monitor is recognized too.
And there is no error, stopping X in your log.
Have you just started X from console and then have not seen anything? So move the xorg.conf away again and start your login manager (and thus X).

This wasn't lxrandr problem it seems. Recompiling xrandr fixes the problem.
