High cpu-load
High cpu-load
When running lxde, I constanly have a cpu load of over 50%. I have a hyperthreaded P4 2.8 Ghz, when hyperthreading is disabled the load goes up to 100%. If I just run openbox (exec openbox in .xinitrc instead of exec startlxde) the problems disapear, even when running lxpannel, and the same theme and settings. I run lxde 0.4.2 on Gentoo. I have an nvidia geforce 9600 GT with 512 MB and 1 G system ram. Nvidia driver version is 185.18.31, kernel 2.6.30. When I use htop or lxtask, no tasks with an extremely high cpu% show up, but X itself uses 9%, compared to just 1% when only running openbox. Is there any part of lxde that influences the X process in this way?

You could try starting the things in /etc/xdg/lxde/LXSESSION/autostart by hand and after each checking, if your system get slower. It It could also be, that some thing in the autostart, is failing while starting, but restarted endless, because a @ is before it.
