Disable Startup Sound
I'm using LXDE (Lighthouse Pup, if it matters) and have had trouble finding out where to turn off the startup sound, which in my case is a very annoying "hello" that sounds more like an alien squawking in pain as it's dying a very horrible death. I'm assuming that I could mute the system on shutdown and it wouldn't make any sound on startup, but it would be rather annoying to mute and unmute my laptop every time I use it. I'm new to LXDE so I'm a little bit lost, if anyone can point me in the right direction I would be very grateful. If anymore information is needed just let me know.
Re: Disable Startup Sound
Hi
I think your "Lighthouse Pup" has done this, LXDE has no startup sounds by default. Have a look at "/etc/xdg/lxsession/LXDE/autostart" and check the file for commands which could launch a sound. You also can have a look at "~/.config/lxsession/LXDE/autostart".

Add Startup Sound
I would like to have a startup sound or a few bars of a song. How do I add startup sound or music? Should I use audacious2 ?
Thanks. Mike

Hi
Proceed the other way around. You could use aplay, don't use applications, which are requiring a gui.
