I know what you mean. The reason I tilted the LXDE bird is that, left alone, it expands the vertical space of the logo, and throws it completely off balance. The symmetry of the general Ubuntu logo is that it likes something to be at one of those three points. However, the logo is tilted about 30 degrees to the right--I'm not sure if that's acceptable or not. I think the concept could still work with the logo upright.
