i just registered and am posting to express my amazement at pcmanfm and its abilites to remove my precious files.
i've been dual-booting Lubuntu for a few weeks and i wonder if its pcmanfm/unix or me that has it wrong.
in a nutshell, i moved some files, the operation failed but upon this failure my original files were deleted as per a succesful move...goodbye gigs of files.
as i see it, this is just unacceptable; a failure on any part of the operation should fail the remains of the operation.
if a default option needs adjusting or my knowledge of unix needs expanding then fine, but ive had zero trouble using midnight commander. on a side note, are there any useful filemanagers to recommend e.g. with folder size reporting???
at this point in time i just am a little tired of the hype, aqualung crashing and no decent gui filemanager.
I wish Haiku all the luck in the world.
thanks
swinny
pcmanfm; am i missing something?
Re: pcmanfm; am i missing something?
Hi,
I think you mean PCManFM 0.9.*. Please consider, this is an testing release, not a stable one. You have gvfs properly working? (will be dropped in future, btw.) If your setup is fine and the latest git-version doesn't work, please fill in a bug report.
