hello everybody
for some reason, the icon theme can't be changed trough LXAppearance. i mean, i can chose other icon sets, but nothing happens.
i'm using Debian Testing, and LXAppearance 0.5.3
here's a screen: i switched to Lubuntu icon theme, but LXPanel and PCManFM icons doesn't change (yes, i applied the changes. open full image to confirm that).
any idea on how to fix it?
and by the way, where can I thank the LXDE developers? amazing job, i simply love it! thank you!
EDIT: i just noticed: if i close and reopen LXAppearance, the selected icon theme returns to the default one

Re: Unable to change icons in LXAppearance
I found an old solution on the Ubuntu forums.
http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=764420
There are explanations of how to change the whole set and an individual icon. I'm not sure if it will work on Debian.

Re: Unable to change icons in LXAppearance
well, copy a iconset ontop of the default one is an idea
but i'd like to know which file is responsible for these settings in LXDE. because everything worked fine in Lubuntu...

Re: Unable to change icons in LXAppearance
I am using Lubuntu and my icons are found in
/usr/share/icons/lubuntu
Is that what you are looking for?

Re: Unable to change icons in LXAppearance
no, the icon sets are already in the correct folder. the problem is: there is some config file, whose name i don't know, that "tells" LXDE which iconset should be used.
i remember reading somewhere, long time ago, that this file is different in Lubuntu. i don't know why...
what i know is that LXAppearance isn't correctly changing this config file. if i could discover it's name, i could change it manually.

Re: Unable to change icons in LXAppearance
well, i'm getting closer. i discovered that LXAppearance changes the file /home/username/.config/gtk-3.0/settings.ini
but for some reason, LXDE components must be reading another file...

Re: Unable to change icons in LXAppearance
on my sytem $HOME/.gtkrc-2.0 is the file to edit. log out/in afterwards.
Re: Unable to change icons in LXAppearance
good point. i entered this file, and inside it, the first two lines says:
i'm still on the search for an answer...
BUT this file does not exists. so i created it, added some lines (as said here), but unfortunately, nothing changed# DO NOT EDIT! This file will be overwritten by LXAppearance.
# Any customization should be done in ~/.gtkrc-2.0.mine instead.

Re: Unable to change icons in LXAppearance
nevermind the ...mine file. delete it.
is "lubuntu" the theme you want? otherwise, change that line (in ~/.gtkrc-2.0) to whichever installed icon theme you want, log out and back in, and how's that?

Re: Unable to change icons in LXAppearance
yes, it is. i want the lubuntu icon theme, but all aplications just show the nouveXT2.2 icons (the default one). everytime i change something i reboot, hoping that anything will change
