how to quit maximize and minimize effect

There is a default effect which looks like the windows XP minimize and maximize effect. I want to disable it. Just want to open a window and see the window appear, neither more nor less.

install obconf and have a look at the "Appearance" tab. There you'll find "Animate iconify and restore".
