Lubuntu 10.10 installed on laptop.
I did a apt-get upgrade yesterday but it was interrupted and after that the "start menu", lxpanel presumably, is only showing "run" and "logout".
Tried reinstalling from synaptic. Tried deleting all files under .config/lxpanel, still the same.
Tried also to kill lxpanel from terminal and restart, it then repeately outputs something like:
"(process:xxxxx): WARING **: removed previous socket file /tmp/.menu-cached-:0-[computername]"
the process ID is constantly ascending on the repeated message, CPU is highly loaded.
What can I do?
lxpanel/menu empty, how to reconfig from scratch?
Re: lxpanel/menu empty, how to reconfig from scratch?
this was a complete surprise, managed to fix this my self!
Turns out on my USB installation, the home/.cache directory was not correctly softlinked to the external hard drive. When fixed, all is well; no hang-up and menu is correct again.
