Post by meetdilip »

I found this on Google from this forum, but I don't have a solution

I was using default Ubuntu 18.04 with Gnome DE. Everything worked fine. I wanted to go light on resources since Gnome used around 2 GB without anything running. I used the command

Code: Select all

sudo apt-get install lxde
Again, everything is fine and I started using LXDE. After a few minutes, the " Display settings " window which talks about " screen resolution " pops up every now and then. It is quite annoying and I could hardly type this.

I had a similar issue on my previous laptop. It was a DELL Inspiron N5110. I didn't find a solution, but a workaround. The workaround was disabling xrandr from dconf. You may try it by running gsettings set org.gnome.settings-daemon.plugins.xrandr active false.
But even after that, the " Display settings " window is all over my screen. Please help if possible.
