Just installed Lubuntu on some older computers to be used for eduction purposes,
and I found it running smoothly compared to gnome / ubuntu

I've got a Swedish standard keyboard. As an example alt gr + 2 shall generate a "@", but I gets a "/" instead.
Got same problem to generate tilde, pipe, dollar characters where the alt gr key are needed.

I have installed language support for Thai as well for Swedish (as standard language)
Somewhere along the way the alt-gr + (other key) generates wrong character.
When running the live CD the alt-gr key combination works. So I suppose something gets wrong after I thai langauge.
But removing thai doesn't fix that problem. In the same application where I add / remove langauge there is box
labeld something like "input method for keyboard", where I can select: none, lo-gtk, th-gtk and th-gtk-im-libthai.
Originally the box was blank, but that option isn't selectable anymore. Don't now if this cause the problem.
best regards
