Laptop specifications for running LXDE

Post by Hina.usman »

Hello, I am in the market for a laptop that is capable of running LXDE smoothly, but unfortunately, the last few laptops I have purchased have not been able to support the LXDE desktop environment. I am a bit perplexed as to why this might be happening, as I have been checking the system requirements and making sure that the laptops meet them. Can anyone suggest what are the recommended specifications for a laptop to run LXDE smoothly, and why some laptops might not be able to support LXDE despite meeting these specifications? I would greatly appreciate any insights or recommendations you can offer.

It is generally advised to make an effort for laptops with at least an Intel Core i3 or AMD Ryzen 3 processor, 4GB to 8GB of RAM, and a solid-state drive (SSD) for quicker storage access when looking for laptops to run LXDE smoothly. Given the lightweight nature of LXDE, these requirements ought to be adequate. Nevertheless, even if a laptop satisfies these requirements, it can still have trouble running LXDE because of issues with the driver support, cooling, or software. The optimization of the entire system is also important to take into account because bloatware or too many background activities might affect performance.

I appreciate your reply. I bought an Acer laptop because it came highly recommended by those who appreciated its affordability. But right now, I'm having problems with how it performs. When opening tabs, the laptop experiences blank screen issues and takes hours to boot up. Additionally, it does not support LXDE as was expected.

You might ask Acer's customer service for help; they might be able to offer particular solutions or spot any hardware or software problems. Alternatives include purchasing a new laptop, thinking about a different brand, or even upgrading to a desktop computer if portability is not a concern if the laptop's performance continues to interfere with your ability to do your business and LXDE compatibility is vital to you. The choice ultimately comes down to your individual requirements, financial constraints, and the seriousness of the problems you are dealing with.

Due to previous negative experiences, I intend to get a new laptop. I'm looking for inexpensive laptops that can run LXDE and found several sites. The websites https://reviewed.usatoday.com/laptops/b ... under-1000
https://sturdybusiness.com/best-busines ... nder-1000/ are where I discovered these affordable resources. This time, hopefully, the new laptop will function properly. In regard to my present laptop, I also contacted a tech specialist, but I got no useful feedback.
